At OAKMUN, delegates are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism. As part of this, all delegates must follow the conference dress code at all times during committee sessions and official events.
Enforcement of the dress code
Delegates not adhering to the OakMUN dress code will not be allowed entry into committee sessions or official events until they have changed into appropriate attire. If a delegate repeatedly fails to comply even after being reminded, they will be denied participation in OAKMUN.
Maintaining a formal dress code ensures that OAKMUN remains a professional environment that reflects the seriousness of debate and diplomacy.
Delegates are required to wear Western Business Attire:
For male delegates
- Suit jacket, dress shirt, and tie (jackets must be worn at all times during sessions).
- Dress trousers (pressed).
- Formal, closed shoes.
For female delegates
- Tailored suit, dress, or skirt of appropriate length (skirts and dresses must reach at least the knee when standing upright).
- Pressed dress trousers or formal blouse combinations are also permitted.
- Formal, closed shoes (heels or flats are acceptable, but shoes must be comfortable for long wear).
Prohibited attire
Delegates must not wear the following under any circumstances:
- Jeans, denim, or casual trousers.

At OAKMUN 2026, excellence is celebrated consistently across all committees. Regardless of committee size, each will award one Best Delegate, one Best Speaker, and one Honorable Mention to recognize outstanding performance, leadership, and contribution to debate. This structure ensures fairness, encourages merit-based achievement, and highlights delegates who demonstrate exceptional diplomacy, engagement, and commitment throughout the conference.
Awards will be determined through a holistic evaluation of each delegate’s performance. Chairs will consider the quality of position papers, effectiveness of opening speeches, delivery of in-committee speeches, and meaningful contributions to drafting and negotiating resolutions. Delegates are encouraged to engage consistently, collaborate strategically, and demonstrate diplomatic growth — as these components collectively shape the selection of award recipients.
